Report February - International Management
In this following document, I would like to explain you how was my last month of the first semester. It is already end of February and winter semester 2018 is finished. February was the most productive period for me. All exams are written and I had to find some job to be busy with.
Statistically Germany is the country with the lowest youth unemployment. Even Würzburg isn’t that big city but there’s possibility to find job. I was looking for suitable one approximately one week and finally found something. Currently I work as waitress in the center of Würzburg near Barbarossaplatz in a Mexican restaurant. As I have worked before in service, there were no problems to show that I have experience in this job. After one trial day, I was officially accepted. In restaurant I have very friendly colleagues and meet really nice customers every working day. By the rules of German government foreign students are allowed to work 120 full working days or 240 half working days, that means it’s nearly 3 days per week. It’s not my first job in Germany that is why I don’t think that there will be some difficulties to superpose studying and working processes. I would say there are a lot of advantages to have a job during studying because soon after graduating employer could see that you have already some experience and can be flexible in time.
On the official commitment of motivation scholarship, we were informed that we have an opportunity to travel back home and present to school students about University of Applied sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt. I think it is a good idea to attract international students. Two weeks before my flight I went to International Office, got the presentation and some brochures in Russian language. Almost one week ago I arrived in Kyrgyzstan. Already visited three schools. When I told to school administration that I would like to explain students about German university even teachers were excited. When I was studying at school, nobody came to present about any European universities. Students in every school were satisfied with my presentation and were interested. I hope there will be more students from other countries especially from Kyrgyzstan in some years at FHWS.
Unfortunately, motivation scholarship was just for one semester and that period of time is finished. This scholarship helped me a lot and I’m glad to share my experience with others. As one American lecturer who studied at the MIT Sloan School of Management said: ”Sharing knowledge isn’t about giving people something, or getting something from them. That’s only valid for information sharing. Sharing knowledge occurs when people are genuinely interested in helping one another develop new capacities learning processes.” I hope my reports will help first semester students to get some orientation in their student life at FHWS.
