For THWS, internationalisation helps to raise the university’s profile. To assure quality, THWS has committed in a contract to supporting the requirements of both national and international declarations in the field of international higher education. THWS European Policy Statement

All higher education institutions wishing to participate in the 2014–2020 EU programme for education, training, youth and sport must outline their commitment to a general internationalisation strategy and particularly with regard to the definition and implementation of mobility activities within Erasmus+ in a European Policy Statement (EPS). National Code of Conduct for German Universities regarding International Students

By signing the National Code of Conduct for German Universities regarding International Students, we commit to offering our international students support tailored specifically to their individual needs. This code of conduct was developed by the German Rectors’ Conference (Hochschulrektorenkonferenz, HRK) and the German Academic Exchange Service (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst, DAAD). It aims to safeguard and improve the quality of support for international students at German universities.

Erasmus Charter for Higher Education 2021-2027

The Erasmus+ Student Charter is awarded by the European Commission to higher education institutions actively involved in the Erasmus+ programme. By signing this charter, THWS commits to complying with all of the conditions for successful implementation of the programme aims. The original ECHE certificate awarded to THWS in 2021 can be viewed in the International Office or as a scan.

 

 

“Internationalisation of Universities” audit by the HRK

The “Internationalisation of Universities” audit by the German Rectors’ Conference (Hochschulrektorenkonferenz, HRK) provides targeted support for German higher education institutions striving to develop/reinforce their international profile. Building on the analysis of the existing internationalisation standards, specific recommendations for further internationalisation are developed in all relevant fields of action. THWS resolved to complete an audit in 2016.

MINTernational Best Strategy Award

Logo MINTernational Best Strategy Award

The initiative MINTernational, created by Stifterverband, aims at motivating higher education institutions to internationalise their academic MINT talents and young MINT researchers (MINT: Mathematics, Informatics, Natural sciences, Technology). Additionally, the iniative is supposed to help German higher education institutions in recruiting international students.

THWS achieved the MINTernational Best Strategy Award for offering seven-semesters undergraduate MINT-programmes as so called Twin Programmes.
