Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP)

BIPs, or Blended Intensive Programmes, are short, intense learning programmes designed for both students and university staff. They provide the opportunity to engage in brief physical group activities combined with a virtual phase.

The focus is on fostering international collaboration and exchange. Participants in BIPs are aimed at acquiring skills that are useful for their own studies or professional roles while enhancing their intercultural and/or foreign language competencies.

This innovative educational format involves university courses organised by lecturers from multiple institutions. Students and staff from all participating universities learn together in a digital space and have an intense week of in-person activities at one of the partner universities.

Funding for these programmes comes from Erasmus+, supported by the European Union. The low financial commitment required from students makes these programmes highly accessible. BIPs make transnational teaching and short-term mobility more straightforward. Students can credit the course at their respective universities and additionally receive a participation certificate from the partner institution. Moreover, BIPs offer students the chance to experience an international study opportunity without the need to spend an entire semester abroad. This aspect makes it an excellent option for students who, for various reasons, are unable to participate in a full-term exchange, enabling them to gather international study experiences.
