The bachelor's degree programme Business and Engineering (B.Eng.) is offered as a TWIN programme. This means that the bachelor's degree programme Business and Engineering is offered in German and in English. In the course of your studies, you complete German- and English-taught modules to obtain a TWIN certificate.

Study contents
The seven-semester bachelor's degree programme Business and Engineering at THWS combines business and engineering. In the foundation phase (1st to 3rd semester), you will develop scientific, technical, and economic basics. From the 4th semester, you deepen your knowledge in business and engineering, complemented by elective modules. The internship semester is scheduled for the 6th semester. You develop theoretical knowledge in a practice-oriented way in lectures, practical courses, and projects. Your studies are complemented by THWS' close cooperation with the industry and the TWIN programme.
Programme structure
1: Foundation phase (1st to 3rd semester)
In the foundation phase, you develop the technical, scientific, and economic foundations essential for an interdisciplinary programme. Subjects like mathematics, physics, and mechanics constitute the technical basis, while business administration, accounting, and economics establish your economic competence. Lectures and practical courses in small groups serve to establish a solid basis for understanding more complex connections in higher semesters.
2: Main studies (4th to 7th semester)
From the 4th semester, you deepen your knowledge in business and engineering. You choose individual specialisations, thus moving your studies towards your interests and career goals. We offer three engineering and five business specialisations. Through your choice of elective modules you place your individual study focus and specialise further. Cooperative projects with the industry complement the theoretical course contents and strengthen your practical abilities and skills.
3: Internship semester (6th semester)
The internship semester is scheduled for the 6th semester. During the internship, you may put your knowledge into practice in a company. You gain practical experience, get to know the day-to-day processes in the company, and make valuable contacts for your future career, THWS' close network with renowned companies opens up various possibilities of completing your internship in the region, in Germany, or abroad. The internship phase is an integral part of the curriculum as it offers you valuable insights into practice.
4: Final semester (7th semester)
You will write your bachelor's thesis during the last semester. In the course of your thesis, you work on a practice-related problem, often in cooperation with a company. You apply your knowledge and skills, analyse complex issues, and create solutions that can directly be put into practice. Upon successful completion of your bachelor's thesis, you will have proven that you are optimally prepared for the challenges of the working world.

We offer various specialisation modules for the degree programme Business and Engineering to facilitate the individualisation of your studies. Whether you prefer mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or economic disciplines like controlling, purchase, production, sales and distribution, or digital business – you can already start to sharpen your individual profile during your studies.

Practice-orientation
Studies at THWS are characterised by a high degree of practice-orientation and the internship semester. Depending on the chosen degree programme, the internship semester is scheduled for the 5th or 6th semester. The internship semester offers you the chance to complete an internship with a company of your choice and gain insights into the professional world. That way you can apply the theoretical and practical knowledge developed during your studies in the work environment you are most interested in.

Admission requirements
Requirement for admission to the Technical University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt is a valid general higher education entrance qualification (Abitur), a subject-specific higher education entrance qualification (fachgebundene Hochschulreife), an advanced technical college certificate (Fachhochschulreife), a general/subject-specific entrance qualification for qualified professionals, or a comparable qualification from abroad (HZB, university entrance qualification).
