Double degree and TWIN certificate

The double degree programme offers you the possibility of obtaining two bachelor's degrees within the standard time to degree – one from THWS and one from an international partner university. This qualification gives you a leading edge on the international labour market and opens up career perspectives around the world.

The English-taught bachelor's degree programme International Management is designed as a TWIN programme. The bachelor's degree programme Betriebswirtschaft is the German-taught equivalent with comparable study contents. In order to obtain a TWIN certificate, you take courses from both degree programmes.

See the globe from an economic perspective: The seven-semester bachelor's degree programme International Management is your personal compass in a world of opportunities! During studies you will develop the skills necessary for navigating business trends, analysing international markets, and successfully applying global business strategies. With practice-oriented projects and an international network, the programme optimally prepares you to start your career with a solid knowledge base.

Foundation phase (1st to 4th semester)

During the first three semesters, you will develop the basics of international management: accounting, HR, and finance. The fourth semester, or even the third and fourth semester, may be spent at one of our partner universities abroad.

Internship semester (5th semester)

The internship module takes place in the 5th semester. You spend the full-time internship in a company of your choice in Germany or abroad. The internship is designed to optimally prepare you for everyday working life. Our close network and partnerships with the regional and national industry and numerous renowned partner universities abroad open up countless internship options.

Final phase (6th to 7th semester)

During the 6th and 7th semester, the theoretical and practical knowledge and skills are deepened in two specialisations. In the 7th semester, students write their bachelor's thesis and participate in the bachelor's seminar. For your bachelor's thesis you choose a practice-oriented research question to work on. That way you can put your knowledge and abilities to the test. Upon graduation you will have built a solid knowledge base, and the practical experience and specialist knowledge required for a successful career.

In the bachelor's degree programme International Management, various specialisation modules are offered from which you choose two. This offers you the opportunity to choose an individual focus area and already embark on your future career path during your studies. From the 6th semester, you may choose from the following modules: 

  • Marketing and Sales Management
  • Human Resource Management
  • Finance & Accounting
  • Entrepreneurship & Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs)
  • Logistics

Students can also choose from our general elective modules (AWPM). These enable you to specialise further.

The THWS Business School offers a double degree programme for the degree programme International Management. Thus, you have the opportunity of completing two bachelor's degrees within the standard time to degree. You may apply for the double degree programme during the first two semesters. If you are accepted, you spend two of your seven semesters at a partner university abroad (60 CP).

Upon successful graduation, you obtain a German bachelor's certificate from THWS and a second bachelor's certificate from the foreign partner university. This qualification gives you a leading edge on the international labour market and opens up more career chances around the world.

Practice-orientation

Studies at THWS are characterised by a high degree of practice-orientation and the internship semester. Depending on the chosen degree programme, the internship semester is scheduled for the 5th or 6th semester. The internship semester offers you the chance to complete an internship with a company of your choice and gain insights into the professional world. That way you can apply the theoretical and practical knowledge developed during your studies in the work environment you are most interested in.

Requirement for admission to the Technical University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt is a valid general higher education entrance qualification (Abitur), a subject-specific higher education entrance qualification (fachgebundene Hochschulreife), an advanced technical college certificate (Fachhochschulreife), a general/subject-specific entrance qualification for qualified professionals, or a comparable qualification from abroad (HZB, university entrance qualification).
