Three good reasons
Study contents
The project and research master's degree programme Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at THWS combines academic research and practical application. Over the course of three semesters, students acquire in-depth engineering knowledge and work on their own research project. Students develop the theoretical knowledge in lectures, seminars, and through the project work. The master's thesis is written over the course of three semesters and is evaluated in between through project phase documentation and discussions on research methods.
Programme structure
The core of the programme is the master's project, which is completed over three semesters and constitutes around 2/3 of the course content. In this project, you will learn how to independently work on a project, including project planning, processing, documentation, and presentation.
In the modules Research Methods I and II, scientifically sound methods for analysing and solving technical problems are taught as part of the project work.
In the master's seminar, you will present your interim results in form of an oral presentations ((partly) in English) and a poster session. That way, your master's programme prepares you for scientific work after graduation.
Specialisations
In the project and research master’s degree programme Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, you deepen your knowledge in specific modules and electives. You specialise in future-oriented fields and thus optimally prepare for challenging tasks in industry and research.
You can choose from the following specialisation modules:
- Drive engineering
- Automation engineering
- Energy technology
- Computer science / information technology
- Mechatronics
- Medical technology / Medical informatics
- Communications engineering
- Production and manufacturing engineering
- Robotics
What makes studies at THWS so practice-oriented?
- Exercise courses and practice projects
- Getting to know and applying new technologies
- Professors with a solid background in industry and economy
- Cooperation with companies and industry partners, regionally and internationally
- Opportunity of writing your final thesis in cooperation with a company
Career and perspectives
