Visit from German Jordanian University

For two weeks, the FHWS is hosting Charles Almasharfeh. He is an employee of our Jordanian partner university, the German Jordanian University (GJU) in Amman, and is at FHWS as part of an Erasmus+ staff mobility for further training in the field of inclusion at German universities.
Charles Almasharfeh is particularly interested in the existing structures and processes in the field of inclusion at FHWS. What rights do students and employees with disabilities or chronic illnesses have and what obligations do German universities have in return, not only as a place of teaching but also as employers? The aim of this two-week training measure is to establish similar structures at GJU. Mr Almasharfeh's plan is to open an inclusion office there that can support and advise disabled or chronically ill students in all their needs. To this end, he meets with various offices and people at FHWS (e.g. with Vice President Prof. Dr. Achim Förster in his role as representative for students with disabilities or chronic illness) and beyond FHWS (e.g. with the Studentenwerk Würzburg or the Contact and Information Office for Students with Disabilities or Chronic Illness (KIS) at the University of Würzburg, with which FHWS has a cooperation agreement).
The mobility and the programme were organised by the International Office with the intention of anchoring inclusion as an important aspect of the cooperation between GJU and FHWS in the future.
