After a virtual kick-off event for the strategic partnership between FHWS and the German Jordanian University (GJU) in April as well as the visit by the President and the Vice President of GJU at FHWS in May it was the time now for meeting in person on site: From June 3rd till 8th, a twelve-headed delegation consisting of President Prof. Grebner, Vice President Prof. Saueressig, several professors from different faculties and departments, as well as representatives of the international office travelled to Jordan. There, they visited GJU, one of the most important strategic partner universities of FHWS.
The agenda included many appointments to get to know the university and the colleagues in Jordan as well as talks regarding the further development of the already existing close cooperation between FHWS and GJU. During the delegation trip, a lot of contacts have been established, ideas elaborated, topics discussed, as well as formats and projects further developed. The focus was set on the preparation of the introduction of so-called “Hosted Programs” – FHWS study programs which shall be offered at GJU – in the fields of Hydrogen Technology, Robotics, and Social Work. A corresponding memorandum of understanding has been signed on June 8th by the two Presidents in the presence of Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Robert Habeck.
The content-related appointments were accompanied by a cultural program, including a visit of the historic and archaeological city of Petra, so that it was also possible for the participants to get a glimpse of Jordanian culture.
