Lithuania: No longer just a transit region, the largest and southernmost of the Baltic states has blossomed into one of Europe's most dynamic and innovative economic hubs. THWS has discovered this fertile ground for education and research, partnering with Kauno Kolegija (KK), a key university in Kaunas, the country's second city.

From October 23rd to 27th, 2023, Maike Antlitz and Manuel Glattbach from THWS's International Office joined a UNINOVIS working week at KK. This alliance of seven European universities, including THWS and KK, aims to strengthen data literacy skills across the EU.

The week wasn't just about paperwork! THWS and its partners submitted a joint application for the "Erasmus+ European Universities Call", aiming for the prestigious title of a European University. Their efforts already earned them a "Seal of Excellence". Beyond collaborations, the week offered a chance to immerse in Kaunas's culture and explore the city alongside KK.

Meanwhile, a parallel Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) brought together ten THWS students from Computer Science and Business Information Systems with their counterparts at KK and the Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences. Titled "Creating and developing educational media content on social networks", the BIP tackled crucial topics like data literacy, fake news, and cyberbullying.

This kind of dedication defines THWS's international spirit. By actively engaging with partners like KK, THWS cements its ambition to be a truly globally connected university, spreading its reach far and wide.
