The top 12 photos will be featured in our calendars, postcards, posters, and on our website. Winners will receive a set including a calendar, poster, and postcard. And who knows? Some runner-ups might also get their moment in the spotlight.

Submission deadline: 16th November 2025


Important - before you submit your snapshot, please note the following guidelines:

  • Only one entry per participant
  • The photo must have been taken outside of Germany
  • No black-and-white images
  • Please avoid filters
  • No use of artificial intelligence (creation, modification, distortion)
  • Submit a high-resolution file (JPEG, TIFF, RAW - minimum 1800 x 1250 pixels), maximum file size 10 MB
  • All currently enrolled students as well as staff members of the University of Würzburg-Schweinfurt are eligible to participate.


How do I submit my entry?

Please send your high-resolution file via the entry form by November 16th, 2025. When submitting, make sure to include your name, first name, email address, and your course of study or workplace. 


Only entries that comply with the guidelines mentioned above, as well as the following legal conditions, will be considered.


Legal conditions:

  • The photo must be free of third-party rights; if individuals are depicted, their permission for publication must be provided. The submitter releases THWS from all claims by third parties due to unauthorized use of others' rights upon first request. This includes court and legal defense costs.
  • Minor individuals must submit a consent form from their legal guardians.
  • Participants grant THWS a simple, free, unlimited, transferable usage right to the submitted image for the stated purposes. This includes the right to adapt or make minor modifications to the photos for the specified purposes.
  • In case of winning, the winning individual agrees to the publication of their name and place of residence in the advertising media used by THWS. This includes the announcement of the winning person on the THWS website and its social media platforms.
  • Participants can revoke their declared consent at any time. The revocation must be sent in writing to comms[at]thws.de.
  • If a provision of these conditions of participation is or becomes wholly or partially invalid, this does not affect the validity of these conditions of participation as a whole. Instead of the invalid provision, the legally permissible regulation that economically comes closest to the expression and purpose of the invalid provision shall apply. The same applies in the event of a regulatory gap in these conditions of participation.
  • Currently enrolled students and visiting students as well as employees of THWS are eligible to participate.
