Elevating our Partnership: THWS and TAMK
On 16 April, we had the pleasure of hosting a delegation from our strategic partner Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK). We were honored to welcome Mika Hannula (President of TAMK), Ari Sivula (Vice President for Research), and Tiina Koskiranta (Local UNINOVIS coordinator). While our cooperation already spans many areas, this visit marked a significant step in further expanding and deepening our strategic ties.
Key focus points, highlights and our roadmap for the future:
UNINOVIS & bilateral growth:
We are committed to strengthening both our bilateral partnership and our cooperation within the UNINOVIS – Data for L.I.F.E. network, specifically fostering ties with other Universities of Applied Sciences within the alliance. This includes, for example, promoting mutual exchanges of students, faculty, and staff, further developing existing programs (e.g., internships, Blended Intensive Programs (BIP), Cooperative Online International Learning (COIL), and collaborating in the areas of startup support and entrepreneurship.
Expanding research cooperation:
A primary focus was the intensification of research collaborations. Together with the THWS Center for Applied Research (CAF), we have discussed and planned initiatives for joint research with a focus on EU-funded projects. The next steps: mapping initiatives, matchmaking researchers, establishing direct connections and developing joint EU-funded research projects.
Hydrogen innovation:
The delegation enjoyed an exclusive tour of our new hydrogen technology building and its state-of-the-art labs in Schweinfurt - a cornerstone for future green energy innovation. Joint energy research between THWS and TAMK is already in the planning stages.
Regional impact at TTZ Bad Kissingen:
We wrapped up with a visit to the TTZ Bad Kissingen for a hands-on experience of the THWS Technology Transfer Center model. For our guests, this concept was of particular interest and sparked an inspiring exchange on structures and development potential for regional innovation.
