Report October - E-Commerce

Wed, 18 Oct 2017 | Bachelor's degree programme E-Commerce

Hello, my name is Oleksii Grygorchuk. I come from Charkiw, Ukraine. I am 19 years old and have been studying the programme E-Commerce at FHWS since the winter semester 2017/2018. I arrived in Würzburg on 18th September. I immediately liked the city, as it looks historical and modern at the same time. The people are nice and helpful, which added to my good first impression of Würzburg.

The first week was an orientation programme for foreign exchange students only, which the International Office of FHWS organized. I want to mention that the International Office is doing a very good job: Everything was interesting, informative, and very useful. I also got to know a lot of new people. Shortly before the start of the semester, I took part in the orientation days by the Faculty of Computer Science and Business Information Systems. They showed me the study place, the study schedule and the learning results of the field of study.

The lectures started on 9th September, and with that, my life as a self-reliant person. My favorite subjects are “Oberflächengestaltung und Usability“, which deals with the design and efficient use of websites. The longer I am in Germany, the more I adjust to the habits, the culture, and the study life. The GAT tutorials also helped me a lot with that. Among other things, my German skills have improved significantly during my stay here.

In total, I can say that I really enjoyed the first one and a half months here, and I gained a lot of knowledge. I am really looking forward to the upcoming months and years.
